Anchored Peace in Times of Stress
My thoughts began to swirl around me as I paced the floor with a baby on my hip. I feel trapped…I have to get out of here…Where is he?…He is always late…
The accusations began to build momentum with the ticking of the clock. By the time my husband walked in the door, I jammed the baby in his arms and ran out. Oh, the joy of a walk! All by myself! No one pulling on me…crying…needing something.
He has no idea how this feels…I am going crazy…When do I have any time for me…
Listen to my short encouragement from Healing Rain Radio…
Have you ever felt trapped? …In your mind…
You may not have been in the situation where you had 4 children ages 6, 4, 2, and newborn, but you have probably felt trapped before.
When the disciples woke him up afraid for their lives, he awoke and changed the outer environment through the heaven-found peace that His life was tethered to.
“The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
“When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. 25 Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?”
The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!””
Luke 8:24-25 NLT
Anchored Peace requires Faith
After Jesus calmed the storm, he asked his disciples “Where is your faith?” He wanted to disciples to walk like He walked, so filled with faith that they could sleep through the storms of life and change the environment by the peace they found within.
