Let Hope In – A book Review by Sue Detweiler

“This book packs a powerful punch against old wounds that won’t heal. If you are ever plagued in the middle of the night with guilt, shame, fear or regret, you will want a copy of this book, your Bible, and a box of tissues.”

Let Hope In: 4 Choices that Will Change your Life Forever by Pete Wilson will help you begin to dream again! Pete, pastor of the 6th fastest growing church in America called Cross Point Community Church, will show you that with God anything is possible.

Pete is a pastor of Hope. As you read this book you will feel like you are taking a walk with a good friend. He writes the secret thoughts of your own mind and in a conversational way dispels the hidden lies that hold you back from personal transformation.

Pete acknowledges the hurt and the pain that people are experiencing, but he doesn’t stop there. He points you towards life-changing choices you can make:

Choice #1: Choosing to Transform Instead of Transfer

Choice #2: Choosing to Be Okay With Not Being Okay

Choice #3: Choosing to Trust Rather than to Please

Choice #4: Hurt People, Hurt People.

But Free People, Choose to Free People

I believe this book packs a powerful punch against old wounds that won’t heal. If you are ever plagued in the middle of the night with guilt, shame, fear or regret, you will want a copy of this book, your Bible, and a box of tissues. Let Hope In through the window of your heart.

3 Ways to Have Confident Faith

Confident faith moves mountains so that it can see the future. Each one of us can walk in a confidence that is God-given. There are 3 ways you can walk into the New Year boldly.

1. Confident Faith is anchored on God’s Word.

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1 NLT).

Faith is really important to God. In fact, it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6).  God’s Word is eternally true.  If you and I are students of God’s word, we will find it relevant for our daily lives. If you anchor your faith to the Word of God, His promises will come to pass. His Word does not disappoint.

2. Confident Faith is established by God’s Will

On a daily basis, we have the opportunity to listen to the specific will that God has for our daily lives. The Holy Spirit will lead each believer that seeks to know God’s will.  If you truly seek, you will find. You are able to walk not only in God’s overall plan for your life, but also the specific daily walk with Him.

3. Confident Faith is committed to God’s Way

It is not enough to know God’s Word and His will, you also have to be committed to walking God’s word out HIS WAY!  God’s ways follow the spirit behind His commandments. His way will marry both the truth of God’s word and will with His way of compassion and mercy.  You will know it’s God’s way when you sense the atmosphere of love and see the signposts of His fruit.

I would love to hear from you… What things steal confident faith from you? Fear? Doubt? Unknowns?
