Do you want God to confide in you? Jesus said,
“When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John 15:11-16
When we obey Jesus we are no longer just servants but we are his friends. Friendship with God is when he begins to confide in you. He intimately shares His hopes and His dreams with you. Friendship with God is an intimacy of walking with Him, hearing is voice and obeying His will. Friendship with God is an attainable goal. Every single one of us have the invitation to be friends with God. You can be as close to God as you desire. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
“God-friendship is for God-worshipers;
They are the ones he confides in.”
Psalm 25:14 MSG

This is how Sue has felt as they have raised 6 children. With over 25 years of marriage and ministry, Wayne and Sue have a heart help couples to build marriages that last. Sue’s newest book, 9 Traits of a Life-Giving Marriage, grew out of their heart to help couples grow closer to God and to each other.
