Wisdom from Heaven
Yesterday I was waiting on God in my time of prayer — I needed fresh wisdom and insight for next steps. As I quieted my heart and began to listen to Him intently, I asked Him if there was any distractions in my life that I needed to set aside in this season in order for me to hear Him more clearly. He showed me — and I committed my heart to obey.
Making the decision of obedience, opened the floodgate for Heaven’s wisdom. As I waited and worshipped, tears came to my eyes as I encountered my savior. Grabbing my journal, I began to write down His words to me.
The Wisdom Encounter
The Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. To fear God is to hate sin and what it does in separating our hearts from intimacy with Jesus. Wisdom from God brings peace and assurance to your heart. It cleanses the soul of impurities of the world.
Sometimes we are stuck, because we don’t want to let something go in our lives that has become a counterfeit comfort. We thing we need “IT” to bring us peace of mind. That’s how addicts learn to rely on their bottle, or drugs, or sex, or food, or work, or ______ .
You Can Trust God’s Wisdom
Rather than relying on “IT” to bring you joy and peace, you and I need to surrender even those small things that distract us from intimacy with God. When you know God, are walking intimately, He will give you His wisdom of how to walk out your everyday-ordinary life. He will take the mundane and make it miraculous.
God’s wisdom will be confirmed by the good fruit produced by the word and from the multitude of counsel. When you surrender to the wisdom from above that is impartial and sincere, you are able to act with both humility and boldness.
His wisdom is so pure and full of mercy that you won’t want to fight for your own selfish ways.
The wisdom that comes from heaven is pure.
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;
then peace-loving, considerate, submissive,
full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”James 3:17
Learn to Wait on God and Encounter His Presence
Rather than rushing through your day, learn to seek the solitude of His presence. Find the pace of grace that is beautiful and refreshing. The wisdom that come from above does not have any strife, struggle or strain.

Indeed Sue wisdom is the principal thing. And I’m in awe and just so grateful that when we seek Him out, He answers. One area I continually need wisdom is in parenting. I really feel like it is such trial and error. But when I look to him first with a parenting concern He shows me the answer, and his way is filled with love, grace and peace (as mentioned in James above).
