God Knows and Cares What You Are Going Through
Reeling from the news that my husband had been laid off, I took off early in the morning for a prayer walk. I gave God my long list of concerns and ended my conversation with “And God, we need groceries!”
Watch this video to find out how God answered my prayer!
God Knows and Cares about the Details of Your Life
I still smile when I remember the acquaintance that came to my door with 4 bags of groceries, enough to feed my 4 small children. She didn’t know what we were going through, but God did!
What are the unseen details of your life right now that you are crying out to God to answer. God is in the details. Pour out your heart to Him. Place the burden of your concern onto Him. He is able to carry it, you aren’t.
God Knows and Cares about Your Heart Concerns
God is able to see the big picture. He knows the concerns of your heart. He also knows what is best for you. Even when you don’t know what to pray, He does.
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:26-28 NLT)
When I cried out to God and said, “We need groceries!” The Holy Spirit interpreted not only my present need but my larger concern. Yes, I had an immediate need for food. But I had a larger need to know that we could trust God through the transition. Not only did this encourage me, it has encouraged everyone I have shared it with. It shows the faithful character of God.
God Knows and Cares about Your Character Development
Our character is developed as God takes us through tough seasons in our lives.
It is through trial and suffering that we become more like God.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” (Romans 5:3-4 NLT)
I know that everything I go through, I find I have a greater compassion for others who are experiencing what I did.
When I am in the middle of a trial I will feel week and vulnerable.
I am stronger today because of the things I have experienced.
What about you? How has God worked in the details of your life? I would love to hear from you.
He grows all these important parts of us when we experience trials… He was taking me back to school on this very topic just last month, Sue, and everything you’ve posted just echoes the entire journey we went through from start to finish. Praise the Lord He uses everything to mold us into even stronger, better vessels than we were to start with if we let Him!
So encouraged by your words…. Lord bless you this week for it!
Yes! He uses EVERYTHING! Be encouraged.
I love the way that you analyze the ways the Holy Spirit used this for you. Not only did He bless you by physically meeting a need, He showed you that He was going to take care of your family through it all. And your friend was blessed by being able to share in it as well. One day we will be able to see all of the connections in one event of our lives – I think it will just blow our socks off. (Do you think we’ll wear socks in Heaven? 🙂 )
I’ve thought about this Angela — I want to go to heaven and ask if I can see an Angelic play-by-play of my life — All those unseen ways that God is guiding every day.
I remember a time in college when I had no idea where the rent money would come from. I prayed as I walked home from class, letting God know that He was my only hope. Wouldn’t you know it, a random, unexpected check waited for me in the mail box! I remember that often, especially when the funds got low after I came home to be with the kids. God has a provision worked out for our needs before we even know we have them!
Yes! He is our only hope. Great testimony.
“God knows and cares about your character development” — second time today God has sent me this message. I find myself in the midst of such a huge trial.. and I just want it to stop. Every time I get to that point of giving up God tosses me a lifeline.
Thank you so much for your words today.
Blessings!
You’re welcome Jana, we all need to walk together!
Decided to link up after seeing your invite in my Twitter feed. Three hours after I wrote this post this morning, my husband’s brother passed away. God know are pain all too well and He certainly cares. Thanks for the link up.
I’m so sorry for your loss Eileen. We will keep you and your husband and family in prayer.
Going through a trial now and would love an escape. But, this reminded me that I need to be stronger and go through it, leaning on God through it all. Thank you so much. 🙂
Sue, your words speak truth and life. I praise God for the testimony He gave you of His hand of provision and how He increased your faith. Thank you! Stopping by from #FindStability link-up.
