God Knows and Cares about your struggle (Luke 8 22-25) Christian Women need to encourage each other.
You are not alone in what you are facing. God is there for you even in the most desperate times. Here is something that happened a number of years ago when my children were small:
When you are reeling from news that startles you, do you go to God? Or do you get angry at God for not being there for you? Christian women
I have done both in my life and the truth is I would rather have God helping me along the way. If God is for you, who can be against you? You may not have somebody showing up with groceries to give you, but if you open up your eyes you will see God at work.
God Knows … Be Real
Be real with God in your struggle and be real with trusted friends. You are able to pour out your pain without dwelling there. It doesn’t need to be a place of residence. Your residence is in the One who made you. He has a plan so trusting His plan is key.
God Knows … Be Peaceful (Luke 8 22-25)
How can you be peaceful? In the eye of the hurricane the winds are swirling all around, but in the center it is still. You can remain peaceful by remaining in the eye of your storm. By the way, you won’t be alone, Jesus is with you.
When the storm was waging all around Jesus, he was asleep in the boat when all of the disciples were screaming for help. The boat was filling with water. Finally they woke Jesus and said, “Master, master, we are perishing!” (Luke 8:22-25).
Jesus calmly gets up and rebukes the wind and the raging water. Immediately there was a peace. The winds and the waves were serene around them. Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said “Where is your faith?”
Jesus was calling his disciples to have more faith. You and I can only calm the storms in our lives, when we remain in the center of the peace He provides. Our faith is walked out when everything around us is swirling, but we are calm. We aren’t calm because we are in denial. We are at peace because we have HIS perspective on our situation.
In Luke 8:22-25 the disciples were afraid and marveled at Jesus that even the winds and the water obeyed Him. But Jesus was teaching us a valuable lesson. We will remain at peace in the middle of our storm if we remain in HIS peace. We have authority to calm the storms that rage outside us, because we are a peace in our hearts through faith in God.
